GOP poll: Tea party movement could cost Republicans in 2012

23 Jun 2011 15:18 #11 by Nmysys

I see the Tea Party as those conservatives who don't want to be associated with the failed GOP platforms of the past, but are unwilling to give up the security of being part of the Republican party. I would have more respect for them as a real political movement if they cut their ties with the Republican party and ran their own slate of candidates. Trying to reform the existing Republican party may prove to be their downfall. There are plenty of Republicans who are not buying the message.

Might I ask what lofty perch do you see this from?

It doesn't cease to amaze me how much you Liberals don't know about everything. Still paying attention to the HuffPo and talkingpoints.com?

Nmysys, rather than attack the poster, why not comment on what she posted? Do you agree with what she said, as a member of the Tea Party? Are you happy the Tea Party remains part of the Republican Party?

Instead of jumping to the bait Wayne, as many times before, I extend an invitation to you to attend our next meeting and find out what you want to know.

Are you now setting the rules for 285Bound.com?

Going to try to turn it into another Pinecam?

Seriously, Nmysys, why not answer the questions? From the meeting minutes of the June 16 Tea Party Meeting, I read statements like this (among other things):

What does the 285 Corridor Tea Party expect to accomplish?
• Expand influence with Republican Party

What does it stand for?
• Serve as conscience of Republican Party

From those two lines, it seems to me that the Tea Party is not really very independent from the Republican Party.

One of you Liberals comes and takes those notes so that you folks can have ammunition to complain about the Tea Party. It is not my responsibility to jump to everything that Liberals demand, since Liberals never have anything other than complaints about the Right, instead of defense for what their party does!!!

Here, maybe this will help you understand why we want smaller government:

Current Financial Situation…
Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the
economy, Congress has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of
50 years of age and above on early retirement, thus creating jobs and
reducing unemployment.
This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).
Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to Congress to be considered
for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination).
Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the
SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers).
A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many
times as Congress deems appropriate.
Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for
Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel
Early Severance).
Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or
SCREWED any further by Congress.
Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much S***
(Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Congress has always
prided themselves on the amount of S*** they give our citizens.
Should you feel that you do not receive enough S***, please bring this
to the attention of your Congressman, who has been trained to give you
all the S*** you can handle.
Sincerely,
The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (E.V.I.L.)
PS - - Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity,
gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the
End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Perhaps then you should take issue with the notes that have been published. If you don't agree with what was written, then say so and report your understanding of the statements, otherwise the rest of us will read those notes and assume that is what was discussed.

Wow... That silly piece of sh*t has been floating around the email-o-sphere for at least 10 years... How original.... Not.

But I see you aren't willing to comment on the minutes from your own meeting... Doesn't sound to me like anyone is forcing you to "jump" to anything. Which suggests that your teabagger movement is just so much Angry-White-Man hot-air.

Yeah, this really makes people take the tea party seriously...
