Tea Party vs. the GOP

At the root of discomfort between the GOP and the Tea Party is a lack of understanding on how candidates are chosen. Couple that with a lack of knowledge on what a political party is actually supposed to do, and there’s a fair amount of animosity between the two.

Ask your typical Tea Party member what the problem is with the Republicans and you’ll generally get an answer like, “The candidates they’ve given us suck,” or, “Too many RINOs run as Republicans,” or, “They don’t adhere to their Constitutional roots.” Well, those are all reason why there is dissatisfaction with the Republican Party, but each demonstrates a lack of understanding of the process of candidate selection.[/quote]

I'm still not sure who the tea party is.

Is it teaparty?

Is it teapartypatriots?

Is it americanteaparty?

Is it patriotactionnetwork?

Is it teapartyexpress?

Is this, or is this NOT from the meeting minutes:

What does the 285 Corridor Tea Party expect to accomplish?
• Expand influence with Republican Party

What does it stand for?
• Serve as conscience of Republican Party

It's a yes or no question.

Funny how if you lift the rock and shine a light, they all scramble back into the dark and hide... They must have something to hide in their meetings....

Wayn-o, we don't have applications for membership. Everyone is welcome even SC who has taken it upon herself to interpret what she wants, how she wants, and to post it on OUR forum. Since we don't restrict attendance, aren't angry old white racists, or any of the other labels that the cranky old broads would like to paint us with, the door is always open.

Personally I don't remember the word Conscience ever coming up, but heck I'm old and forgetful aren't I?

No offense, but what is this all about Nymsys? SC did not take anything upon herself as far as I know, she volunteered for you guys. From what I heard most people respected her quite a bit for coming down and going to a tea party meeting, researching herself and offering her help. I don't think you should be taking this out on her.
