of course, he is most likely no longer in the US according to his lawyers.

If the local police decided they didn't have enough evidence the first time... I'm interested to see how this turns out.

There will be a huge burden of proof here, especially once (if) they're able to find an unbiased jury.

I don't expect a conviction, even if he is guilty... just like the first time around... if the D.A. doesn't think they can prosecute, they don't bother, it's not worth the state's time. Now, with all the public outcry, it may be worth the time, but they're expecting to lose.

Nobody will feel any less like he did it, or didn't do it, but at least they'll be able to say that the state attempted to prosecute him. It's good for the state, because it means that even though you won't stop everyone from hating the shooter, at least they'll stop hating the state.

He'll walk free.

Didn't see where he was going to be charged with murder Angela. Perhaps "...charged in teen's death" would be a more appropriate title until we actually find out what he is going to be charged with. Manslaughter charges are, after all, not murder charges.

we shall see... in my view, if you are hunting another person, then kill them, it is premeditated. he was told to back off by dispatch but did not comply.
in neighborhoods where there is a REAL neighborhood watch program, it is done with groups of folks working WITH the police and NEVER carrying a gun and NEVER approaching the person they are suspicious of. They work in teams, not a lone wolf hunting with a weapon, and act as the eyes for police to come and investigate. The Neighborhood Watch organizations put the folks through training and they work with the community. This guy was/is a stalker.
I tell you what, if I was walking down a street and some guy is stalking me with a gun, I would be scared sh**less.

and if you are an official neighborwatch watch program, it is registered, there are background checks performed on members and a general assessment done to see if people have the right temperament to be involved

To refer to him as the neighborhood watch guy is false. this guy was a self appointed stalker, not part of any organization.

We could get into the whole thing again about Zimmerman's statement that he was on his way to the store when he came across Martin and not out actively patrolling the neighborhood, along with a couple other speculations you have made here, but it would be as pointless this time as it has been when attempted previously.

All I'm saying is that until the special prosecutor names the charges your choice of words is premature. That choice may end up being correct, but at this point in time the choice is speculative at best.

It will be interesting if the actual evidence matches up with your pre-conceived opinions. The trial may be a lot less about your view of Neighborhood Watch and more about the Florida stand your ground law. Zimmerman bleeding and on the ground defending himself with a pistol might matter more than the events leading up to it.

Time just tweeted, "our troops in Afghanistan have more restrictive rules of engagement than the Florida Concealed Carry law."

and I don't think the trial will have anything to do with Neighborhood Watch, but I want folks to understand what a NW really is and the preparation, etc that goes into it.

To me, it should be very clear - Zimmerman claims that Martin was on top of him when he shot him. Forensics should be able to prove/disprove this straight away. Of course, if Martin was on top of him, who is to say that Martin was not exercising HIS right to stand his ground, after having someone stalking him with a gun? It is all a mess and this law needs to be shot down (pun intended)
