I would think the majority of people would want this instead of trying the case in the idiot media. I'm 99% certain this won't happpen, but if Zimmerman was found not guilty of 2nd degree murder, the Rodney King riots would look like a day in Teletubby Land.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
I think the prosecutor and the Martin family handled their press conferences well (though they didn't really need Al Sharpton's speech, but even he was subdued). I liked how the prosecutor handled some of the dumb press questions. I'd of liked to hear about additional evidence too, but it's clear why they don't want it tried in public. I was expecting manslaughter charges, so 2nd degree murder surprises me. But none of us know all the evidence. Apparently the minimum sentence if convicted of 2nd degree murder is 25 years without parole. The maximum is life without parole. So it's pretty close to what you would get for a 1st degree murder charge other than the chance of a death sentence.
Zimmeman turned himself in and has a new attorney (I didn't think the other ones served him well). The press asked a couple of times where he is, and the prosecutor wouldn't tell them (duh).
Edited to add that we seem to have two different stories about what happened with the first prosecutor. The special presecutor made it sound like the investigation was still in progress, the family attorneys said they were told there would be no arrest made (not sure if that ment never or not).
