I would think the majority of people would want this instead of trying the case in the idiot media. I'm 99% certain this won't happpen, but if Zimmerman was found not guilty of 2nd degree murder, the Rodney King riots would look like a day in Teletubby Land.

The "victim's" family really just wanted an arrest --- so check that off on the to-do list.
Zimmerman is being charged with second degree murder.
That's the starting point.
I think we'll end up with a lessor charge with a 20 year sentence, at most.
The typical convict in Florida serves 50 percent of his/her sentence --- meaning the worst-case scenario is this guy would be out in 10 IF he's convicted.
The case will likely take 3-5 years to adjudicate.
If I were the DA - I'd take a plea. score a conviction, and be done in time for elections.

I lived in South Central when those riots happened. Those were more based on huge pent up frustration with how the LAPD had been treating people in South Central for years than just that incident. The LAPD really acted like they were portrayed in Boyz In The Hood and something was going to set the community off at one point or another. I don't think that Sanford, FL is going to go off the deep end if the verdict is not guilty. The outrage in this case is nationwide, not just in the community it happened in. Now if they find the Tulsa shooters not guilty, that's another story.
The outrage in this case is based more on the shoddy police work that ended up with no charges. The racist part of it was whipped up by the media, but I think more people thought the racist thoughts about the SPD than Zimmerman.
