That's the starting point.

I think we'll end up with a lessor charge with a 20 year sentence, at most.

The typical convict in Florida serves 50 percent of his/her sentence --- meaning the worst-case scenario is this guy would be out in 10 IF he's convicted.

The case will likely take 3-5 years to adjudicate.

If I were the DA - I'd take a plea. score a conviction, and be done in time for elections.

As I mentioned the talking heads say there is no parole for 2nd degree murder in Florida. But if he's convicted of a lesser charge, that may not be the case.

I'd be surprised if there were a plea bargain in this case.
