that link is interesting. Truman actually had to take out a loan to move out of the White House, and was on Medicare. It was not until years after he left as POTUS that he was granted a pension.

Depends on how you define poor. If you are talking "middle class", Truman probably would be the guy.

Clinton was pretty close though. I think he only made 50K as governor of Arkansas and Hilary worked.
