An absurd example is appropriate when debating an absurd proposal. In my opinion, arming our teachers (the very teachers the Right criticizes constantly), is an absurd proposal.

How do you reconcile your fear of the government with a desire to give them more power and control. Sure, it's for the security of the kids...but now the (insert generic demonization such as socialist, communist, fascist, etc.) gubment will be able to indoctrinate children by force, and you won't be able to do anything about it..

I appreciate all your points here. I just want to make mine even bolder. The problem is not with specifics. It is about respect as a whole. INTEGRITY.

You don't do things just because you can. We don't teach our children(generally) to respect each other's views, religion, person. WE hare moving towards a labeling society that decides that if you are on the wrong side of the debate or just generally wrong about anything you deserve to be treated with disdain. If you make a mistake you are locked up in prison forever and are even treated like an animal. It is a dog eat dog, me-me society. Mark my words until THAT changes nothing else will. IT is not about specifics it about how we act generally. Anyone remember this???

Even people who kill, if we can find it in our heart to forgive and realize it does not always have to be someone's fault, then we as a society will thrive. I believe this with my whole heart. During the election I was trying with all of me to explain this and on the 911 thread. I was trying to bring us together as people. It is not about what happens to us it is about what we do when things happen to us. If this society doesn't get that, it will continue to get worse. Going back in time or "eye for an eye" is not the solution, it is the problem.

As more information comes out, a picture emerges.

Gun-nut mother, (oh, sorry..."Gun enthusiast"); home-schooler; misfit kid who doesn't seem to know how to "play well with others"... Mother died from "SEVERAL gunshots to the head"... (a lot of anger there, one could surmise...)

Multiple 30-round magazines found at the slaughter site...

But, of course, "we can't draw any conclusions from that"....

Latest report is that the mother was a "prepper" and was turning her house into a "fortress" to repel the mass invaders from the city when the economy collapsed.

If only the first victim, the shooters mother, had been a gun owner. She could have prevented this tragedy before it started.

Sorry didn't read or hear anything about her political anything. So unless there is some proof she was a so called right winger, just another rumor.
