[Biden] is a vicious self-serving political hack, for one thing, one whose ambition leads him from time to time into shocking indecency. You may have heard that Biden lost his wife and daughter in a horrifying drunk-driving wreck, the fault of a monster of a man who irresponsibly “drank his lunch,” as Biden puts it.

NEVER HAPPENED..

Biden’s wife and daughter did, in fact, die in a car wreck. That is true. It is not true that the driver of the other car was drunk, that he had been drinking, or that there was any reason to believe he was drunk or had been drinking — or even that he was at fault.

The late Mrs. Biden “drove into the path of [the] tractor-trailer,” the police report says. But Biden, like every other third-rate ward-heeler of his ilk, thinks and speaks only in terms of good guys and bad guys, white hats and black hats — and if something bad happens to good people, then it must be because somebody in a black hat did something nefarious.

The driver of that truck went to his grave haunted by Biden’s lies, to the point where his children were forced to beg the vice president to stop defaming their late father. The casual cruelty with which Biden is willing to subordinate the lives of ordinary people to his political ambitions — for the sake of a petty tear-jerker line in one of his occasionally plagiarized stump speeches — is remarkable.

Wow, I never heard that story. If true hes a lot more like Warren than I thought. The press won't touch anything like this though, all of Biden's lies and mental lapses will be hidden under the media's massive rug.

The police report is public record.

Biden started his duplicitous career early: From the New York Times:

Biden Admits Plagiarism in School But Says It Was Not 'Malevolent'
By E. J. Dionne Jr., Special To the New York Times
Sept. 18, 1987
" a law school faculty report, dated Dec. 1, 1965, that concluded that Mr. Biden had ''used five pages from a published law review article without quotation or attribution'' and that he ought to be failed in the legal methods course for which he had submitted the 15-page paper."
"Mr. Biden, who graduated from the law school in 1968, was 76th in a class of 85."

I have an acquaintance who was at SU Law in the same class as Biden. His opinion of Biden based on personal experience with Biden caused him to say that even though he is a life-long democrat he could never vote for Biden.

The title of this article sucks, but the gist of it is that he apologized to the driver's family back in 2009, they forgave him and considered the matter closed.

Joe Biden's false claim about drunken driver draws renewed scrutiny
Truck driver's daughter says Biden called to apologize in 2009
By Valerie Richardson - The Washington Times - Friday, October 18, 2019

The worst moment of Joseph R. Biden’s life — the 1972 car crash that killed his wife and baby daughter — has drawn renewed attention over a falsehood that the former vice president repeated for years: that the other driver was drunk.

From 2001-07, Mr. Biden indicated at least twice that the tractor-trailer driver who hit his wife’s car had been drinking, even though the state official who oversaw the investigation and the driver’s daughter said that wasn’t true.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Pamela Hamill, the daughter of driver Curtis C. Dunn, called on Mr. Biden to apologize publicly after he told a crowd that her father “drank his lunch” before the accident, according to a 2008 article in the Newark [Delaware] Post.

In a January article in Politico, Ms. Hamill said that Mr. Biden called her to apologize following a 2009 CBS report on the discrepancy.

“He apologized for hurting my family in any way,” she said. “So we accepted that — and kind of end of story from there.”

Flashback: Joe Biden's first presidential run in 1988 cratered amid multiple instances of plagiarism
Joe Perticone, Business Insider | Mar 12, 2019

Biden's plagiarism became a hot campaign issue which his 1988 Democratic rival, Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, used in a video attack ad that was passed around to several media outlets, according to a Washington Post article in 1987.

Dukakis — who would go on to win the nomination but lose the general election to the late-President George HW Bush — ultimately fired his political director Paul Tully and campaign manager John Sasso over the ad.

In a telling moment demonstrating how much more collegial primary battles were just three decades ago, Dukakis even held a news conference where he apologized to Biden, "his family and his friends for what happened and for the involvement of my campaign in this whole situation," The Times reported in 1987.

Biden reiterated that he was wrong, but did not deliberately intend to plagiarize while in law school.

Thank you SC, yes the New York Times sucks.
Using a little math (by the way I am not from the Brian Williams school of math) 2009-1972 =37.

He apologized 37 YEARS LATER! Long after the driver had passed on. Sorry but I don't buy Biden's sincerity in this matter.

It said in the story that he said that falsehood at least twice between 2001-2007, and apologized in 2009. 2020 - 2009 = 11 years since he apologized and the family accepted his apology and closed the matter. But yes, let's bring it up again over a decade later and re-open old wounds for the family.

Why would a man falsely say that his wife and daughter were slaughtered by a drunken driver, if as you state it happened 29 years ago? (2001-1972=29) . He apologized and closed the matter. Really? I surmise that he had no statements for the 29 years after the incident but having learned from someone with interactions with Joe Biden I do not believe him. Then he found remorse 11 years after the first RECORDED evidence of his malfesance. I stand by my statement that he keep the Dunn family in hell for 37+ years.
Re=open old wounds for the family? Which family that of Curtis Dunn or that of Joe and Hunter Biden?
( By the way is Bill Clinton reopening old wounds in Monica Lewinsky with his protestations that his sexual relationship with her was a way for him to relieve his anxieties?)
Let's move on to Biden's record of plagiarism, at the very least starting with his first year in law school and progressing in his previous runs for the presidency,( Neil Kinnock, anyone). Well , as you say he did apologize for cheating.

This is just one of many indicators that tell you what a horror of a human being Biden is.

These excuses and apologies are laughable considering the 3 year Trump obsession and measuring every word that may not be 100% accurate. If you decide to not use your same standards for Biden that you do for Trump, your words are empty and not worthy of being taken seriously. Maybe you all give Biden a pass because he's losing his mind and saying that he was arrested is South Africa really isn't a big deal because he backtracked when called out on it. The list of his past and current lies is long, but the standard for him is different for some reason. Can't you see the hypocrisy yet?
