Raiding a party at Becky's ? Shouldn't have to, shes captain of the raving tin foil hat squad. Tell you what, let's start a pool, how long before she either gets kicked off of here or leaves in a huff. She already has done this on just about every message board there has been over the past several years (Pinecam, DSV, Freetalk, Club 285, 285 chat, Parkbull, probably more little spite boards that have come and gone.) Very Sad when a person who spends loads of time over many years posting on numerous message boards creating trouble, and by an a person who seems to be miserable 24/7.

Funniest & most factual post I have read in a while. I quit posting on Parkbull because of the nut cases.

Yes Becky has her moments. We voted for her to be on the PCFD board. We really wanted her to get a dose of her own medicine.

Overall this board is better than most I have seen, since it it loosely moderated. Unless you post something negative about a local business person that is helping to lead the charge against the school board. Then the friends of Becky kick in and moderate.

I'm telling you what I see... and it reminds me of "To Kill a Mockingbird"... It's ugly... And the more the rabidly-righteous wind themselves in knots, the uglier it gets.

Well, not everyone you disagree with politically.........
I would also contend that the rabidly-righteous leftists wind themselves into some pretty big knots as well - but I still think you're good people LJ. I'd be proud to have you for my neighbor - in fact, there's a couple of houses on the block that are up for sale if you're interested and a couple more that are within hollerin distance.

you know on occasion i have different views than becky. i have never met her. but i have to say that i appreciate all the time and attention she does give to the boards to present her point of view. all part of the process. i voted for her and a couple of other nonincumbents for the fire dept because i knew they cared and would do a good job. we need people who will look closely at all the issues and make good decisions. i was also hoping they could address the professional problems the f.d. has.

but i digress. i work some evenings and most weekends so i won't be able to join you tomorrow so i put some questions/suggestions here. since we don't have an independent running for sheriff that part is pretty much a done deal for the moment. but we still have independents running for commissioner and coroner so might there be a chance of their succeeding? i know monica but not familiar with the one for coroner.

at any rate it seems that 285bound, becky and others made a valiant effort to get the word out on the various candidates but as was said by someone in one of the threads there appears to be much apathy. what can be done to get more people registered to vote in park county? in the burbs going door to door is an option but in the mountains you might get shot trying that. any suggestions?

have a great time tomorrow!

All in all, I think you're good people too...

But truth be known, I'd rather have a root-canal than deal with the petty crap I see going on in ParkCo... (Besides, I'm only 4-1/2 years from having my mortgage paid-off...and 4-1/2 years from retiring... I want to enjoy what I've worked so hard for.)

Given the fall in values due to the foreclosures, I'm pretty certain you'd wind up with some cash in your pocket, or your 401K, and lower property taxes, by making the decision to join us at 8700 ft above sea level. You wouldn't believe the views a couple of them have off of their decks. I'll even be a nice neighbor and blow the snow off the driveway during the winter. All in all, it's a good neighborhood to live in and I like the prospect of a known commodity better than the luck of the draw as far as neighbors are concerned. I can even give you the inside scoop on a couple of the properties so that you'd be negotiating price from a stronger position. I might even go so far as to promise not to discuss politics with you - but I'd have to think about that a little more first. Wouldn't want to make you a promise I wasn't able to keep after all.
