The larger question, which U(collectively) have no answer for is.......HOW TO DO THAT IN A ECOLOGICAL SOUND WAY.......there r solutions, they will take a HUGE amount of $$$$ and intense
effort. The easy way out is what y0u (collectively) will opt for....and in the process,DESTROY GAIA .
You still refuse to answer my question so I'll answer your deflection. The answer is that there is NO WAY POSSIBLE to produce any energy of any kind without some kind of consequences that climate alarmists think is bad. Just the fact that humans are living, breathing, and passing gas is detrimental to the planet if you use the new green metrics.
You fail to understand Maslow's hierarchy of needs, which at the base includes food and shelter. People need to live and they won't live very long if they can't provide for themselves and their families. If you understand economics at a 9th grade level, you know that oil and gas still runs the world and is 100% necessary for our survival.
If your standard is 100% clean extraction and 100% clean consumption, then you are living in a fantasy world which will never exist unless a new source of energy is discovered and developed.
To prove me wrong, please list the sources of energy that can replace fossil fuels right now that don't harm the environment in any step of the process AND is affordable and accessible to the majority of humans. This should be interesting if you're willing to finally answer a direct question with a direct answer.
The answer to your question is that there is no clean energy. You say there are solutions that will take a lot money and "intense effort"... yes, I agree. But just making that statement doesn't make the current reality change. Our country is broke and our people will soon be struggling. People who struggle just want to live and don't give two shits about future magic energy that GAIA approves of.
[/b]
U R ABSOLUTE RIGHT......nailed it on the head. NOW, look at what giving a shit is capable of
OH, AND ADD TO THE LIST........ANAEROBIC DIGESTION....look it up and mull over the massive amount
MAGIC there is...if utilized....the solutions ARE THERE...THEY ARE NOT BEING IMPLEMENTED,WHY?
BECAUSE OF ARCHAIC THINKING AND LAME EXCUSES
Have you ever been poor HA? Have you ever struggled to feed your family and to pay your utility bills? Most of the politicians who make our laws have never lived like that, and if they did, they've forgotten the struggle because they are now millionaires and have to connection to every day citizens. We are about to experience serious economic problems which mostly stem from high energy costs.
When that family of four is spending an extra $500+ a month on gas, food, and utilities, as they already live paycheck to paycheck, why TF would their concerns include making their damn carbon footprint smaller? You sound like someone who expects to tap out soon and doesn't care about the lives of those who remain. I have 3 adult children that will have to survive in what's left of this country so I am very concerned.
BTW, you haven't offered up any reliable and affordable alternative to fossil fuels that would make it unnecessary for us to drill. Surely you can find an article in the leftist propaganda universe that would enlighten me. I'm talking about NOW, not 10 or 20 years from now.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Couple of things....U know NOTHING about my upbringing..living in Alaska is a third world country,EVERYTHING IS EXPENSIVE. We raised our own garden, had cheap, poor quality meals,BUT FRESH vegetables. My brother hates salmon, because he had to fish for us to eat. HEATING was off the charts.
NOW, reread the post on alternative fuels, apparently u missed it.
There are alternative forms of energy production, there are not alternative forms of fuel.
If you were in charge and could make all the energy decisions, what would you do RIGHT NOW to replace fossil fuels? Solar panels and windmills will not get the poor and middle class to work and they certainly can't heat and cool the vast majority of homes TODAY. You don't have that answer because there is no answer that is logical. If there was a good answer, don't you think a guy like Elon Musk would have it?

As I stated before, the solutions r there..the willingness to INVEST THE TIME AND MONEY is not....image
what ALL of the combined methods could do IF they had been given $$$$$ for r&d....here's ANOTHER OPTION.,kinks need working out,but $$$$ is required,as is the WILLINGNESS to step away from the archaic position of relying on fossil fuels.....ALSO stepping away from the POLITICS OF PETROLEUM.

Scotland,France,s. Korea have implemented the method....AGAIN,money needs to be there for R&D, for improvements and scaling the system. THINKING OUT OF THE BOX,
what a concept. IF this had been a priority over the last decade,WHERE WOULD WE BE??? (CERTAINLY NOT IN THE P.O.S. OF TODAY)
homeagain wrote: why/??? GREED. "money does not change people,it only exposes them"...
How is it "greed" to use energy that your people can actually afford? The point is that Europeans went all in on "green" energy and they were hit in the face with reality. You want the US to do the same thing and then try to flip back to fossil fuel when it doesn't work out.
How many people need to die or go into poverty before you'll admit that green energy is only a supplement at this point in time and can NOT run a nation? The people pushing green are making money off of green and they are too rich to be hurt by high gas and food prices. That is what greed looks like.

Stephen Colbert just made my point perfectly... the rich guy letting everyone know this crisis isn't going to hurt his rich ass one bit.
"Today, the average gas price in America hit an all-time record high of over $4/gallon. OK, that stings, but a clean conscience is worth a buck or two. It’s important. I’m willing to pay $4/gallon. Hell, I’ll pay $15 a gallon b/c I drive a Tesla"

Just saw a poll on the biggest concerns of American voters. Climate change worries didn't make the top 10. There is a tiny minority in the Democrat Party, mostly coastal elites who think it is a Top 3 problem, but many more Americans are worried about if they will be able to afford food and fuel for next week.
