That's a flat out lie. First, this election is to form a rec district not a build a rec center. Second, taxes cannot not raised without a vote of the people. This election is to only create a district and elect a board. There is nothing to be lost by creating a district. Quit making up stuff.BasketWeasel wrote: The proponents of this measure aim to raise your property taxes for a rec center (regardless of their denials to the contrary).
It hasn't been made public because it has NOT yet been determined where it will be, there are still application and approvals to be done. As soon as that stuff is complete it will be announced...again, stop making stuff up.BasketWeasel wrote: Where is the polling place? Well, the backers of this initiative could easily have provided that information by now, but they don't want it publicized, so they'll probably stall as long as possible before telling us where it is.

Why are they not asking for taxes or fees and this time? Because it allows them to hold a stelth election.
If you are on the Mail in Ballot list with the county you will not receive a mail in ballot as you might expect, you will have to show up in person. Let’s also ask, who is going to count the ballots? Will there be county certified election judges as you would expect in a normal election?
